Pierre Baillot

Multi-instrumentalist, programming, compositions & arrangements (Saxophones, Ney, Bansuri flutes, Oud,…)

At the age of 6, Pierre Baillot began his career studying classical music (guitar). He later became attracted to improvised music of Blues and Jazz and draws his influences from Michael Brecker, Pat Metheny and Anouar Brahem. After becoming a jazz musician he got interested into World Music and especially Indian and oriental music. He is studying oriental improvisation and instruments such as ney flutes and oud.

After several years of regular live events with the band Channel 5, pierre founded an innovative music concept called MaïdoProject which mixes electro world music and jazz improvisation. MaïdoProject has been very active on the French scene and  the latest CD Zafran Lounge released on Universal is a big success in the Middle Eastern Countries.
