After various unsuccessful attempts with the violin and guitar, Joris finds his calling through African percussion, leading him to Mali at the age of 20. These immersions into terra incognita lead him to encounter the Kamalengoni, a kind of harp lute constructed from a gourd. Captivated by the instrument's potential, he begins crafting them in 2003. In 2008, he meets Master Abou Diarra, whose teachings he has been following to this day, all while exploring a more personal approach through his intuition.
