Roberto D'OLBIA

Biography
Roberto d’Olbia was born on January 13, 1970, in Beauvais (Oise). At the age of 3, he displayed exceptional musical aptitude, playing by ear, creating, and improvising his own melodies. He composed across diverse genres, ranging from classical to jazz, including popular and contemporary styles.
He entered the Conservatoire de Beauvais under the guidance of Selman ADA, an internationally renowned composer and conductor, and a student of Pierre SANCAN at the CNSMP in Paris. In 1986, he earned a gold medal from the Conservatoire de Beauvais and was admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in Yvonne LORIOT's class. He later completed his studies in Pascal Devoyon's class.
In 1987, he gave his first concerts, prepared with the support of Aldo CICCOLINI, featuring a program of MOZART, SCHUBERT, and DEBUSSY. In 1990, he participated in master classes with Dominique MERLET. In 2000, he made his debut as an actor in Paris, portraying the role of Sganarelle in Molière's play.
He regularly performed in recitals across Europe and the United States, and as an accomplished cabaret artist, he pioneered a pianistic expression he refers to as the 'One-piano-man-show.' This theatrical, derisive, and virtuosic mode of expression showcased the multifaceted talent that propelled him to solo performances or collaborations with symphony orchestras on prestigious stages such as the Casino de Paris, Olympia, Stade de France, and many others.
In 2015, he interpreted Sergei Rachmaninov's magnificent Concerto No. 3 with the Presidential Orchestra of Ankara, conducted by his lifelong mentor Selman Ada. This was followed by interpretations and recordings of major works in the repertoire. Roberto gives masterclasses and advice to aspiring young artists who, like him, are passionate about cross-genre music.
