Biography

Born in Paris in 1974, Sylvain Ott is a French composer and musician who has developed a rich and diverse career. Trained in classical and jazz music – notably at the CIM, the Conservatoire de Bois-Colombes and the Schola Cantorum – he began his career working in a studio setting, which allowed him to gain solid experience in production and recording.

Over the years, Sylvain Ott has been involved in a variety of projects, from music for short films and commercials to composition for production music. He has worked with several labels and record companies, including Mercury/Universal, Polydor and Universal Music, and has contributed to the production of songs for artists such as Florent Pagny and Mylène Farmer. His compositions have also been used in advertising campaigns such as Cartier “Savoir-faire”, Volvo Ocean Race, Air Europa and “La Piste de la Francophonie 2024” on TV5Monde.

Since 2013, he has been working with BMG Production Music and contributing to the production of albums for various labels such as AXS Music, TELEMUSIC and ATLAS AUDIO. More recently, since 2022, he has been working for RFI Instrumental in composing and producing book albums, while also responding to requests for custom music.

Recognized for his quality work, he has received several awards including the best production music track ambient award at the 2017 Mark Awards and the Wildsound Festival Trophy for Best Music in 2016. In 2022, his commitment is also confirmed by his accession to the status of definitive member of SACEM.

Always faithful to a simple and sincere approach, Sylvain Ott continues to explore new creative challenges, integrating his interests for digital technologies and the search for collaborations around the world.
