Thomas JULIENNE

Thomas JULIENNE
Biography
Thomas Julienne is an eclectic and distinctive musician. Primarily a double bassist, he stands out as a composer and arranger. He engages in an open and differentiated approach to pedagogy. As a musical composer, Thomas Julienne combines his skills as a multi-instrumentalist (Double Bass - Guitar - Oud – Sitar), the diversity of his experiences, and his expertise in computer-assisted music. His creations illustrate his vocabulary; his palette allows him to draw from the richness of the "jazz language," the experimentation of tones, and the legacy of symphonic music. In his work with images, he seeks to create an intimate relationship with artists to enhance cinematographic or photographic creations. It is in "Theorem of Joy" that he stands out today as a leader: "A very singular, very carefully crafted music that moves between the best of progressive rock, jazz, and a form of (very) sophisticated pop music. The invited instrumental ensemble does justice to writing of beautiful density, marked by the beginning of the twentieth century, and that does not succumb to genre easiness. The lyricism of the writing is undeniable, controlled but not constrained. In short, it is a success, on an ambitious project that has fully achieved itself." - Les DNJ / Xavier Prévost http://www.thomasjulienne.sitew.com/ https://www.instagram.com/thomas.julienne/
