Vongpakai Sitthidet

Biography
Vongpakai Sitthidet, lives in Paksé, she is a singer and dancer, but above all, the ambassador of Molam, a sound that has crossed generations. Molam is usually used at weddings, funerals and many other celebrations. It sounds like a sacred music, nostalgic, protesting and also overturns the roles. Traditionally the sound is rhythmic, the Khene (long bamboo harmonica) has a preponderant place.
Vongpakai Sitthidet tells local stories, those of the villages in the middle of the countryside, their good or bad. Stories of crops, seeds and everything else that makes life rural. Love is also part of the story. These are the impossible links of a Thai peasant and a beautiful Lao separated by a Mekong too big politically and socially... the union is not done but the song, undoubtedly in the blue’s.
